Product Reviews
Izziwotnot’s Bailey Sleigh cot-bed isn't cheap but it's elegant and well-constructed. It's simple to put together, although it requires two people, and it looks great in any nursery. The panel was a huge hit with our panelists, who were enthralled by the dark wood sides and the dowel edges. It's sturdy enough for your child to use up until they become toddlers. It also meets British safety standards. The depth isn't so great that your baby can climb out and the distance between the slats shouldn't be greater than 65mm, which should prevent the head from getting stuck. It is also necessary to buy a mattress which is priced at a cost of PS88.
The cot stands out because of its shape-shifting sleigh design. It's also very easy to get your baby in and out, which is a major benefit. It's slightly more expensive than some other cot beds, but our panel of experts thought it was worth the extra money for the style and durability.
This cot bed comes with a choice of the finishes of country pine or walnut and is suitable from birth. It has three handy mattress heights, meaning you can start your child starting with the base raised up so that they can easily access them throughout the day and later lower it as they develop. It has teething rails that ensure your child's furniture is protected as well as gums. Once your baby grows out of the cot bed, it can easily be transformed into a junior bed, and then an ottoman.
Silver Cross' westport design is another cot that has an excellent feel and is built to last. It can be used as a cot starting at birth, then as an infant bed, and then as a junior bed (toddler guard rails are available separately). Our panel of experts found it difficult to convert from cot to bed, but their other half thought it was a doddle and took less than five minutes to complete. It's a little more expensive than other models, but you'll want to keep it for your children as they are older.
